Fair's Fair

Ever felt ripped off? You’re not alone. That’s why the Commerce Commission wanted a resource that would educate and inform anyone in the business of selling about what’s fair and what’s not.

We came up with a fresh, theatrical approach – An Evening with The Fair Trading Act – and teamed up with leading Wellington theatre troupe The Improvisors to produce a half-hour sketch show demonstrating the rules and pitfalls around fair trading. Humour was a vital ingredient to keep people watching and make the serious stuff easy to swallow.

FitzBeck managed the project from end to end – from scripting, casting and props, through to a shoot out at Avalon studios and doing the graphics and music.

The real success of this project was the close working partnership forged with Comcom staff. All the sketches were workshopped and rehearsed extensively with them prior to scripting. That’s what made it all work.
